10 Shades Whiter in Just One Visit

Zoom! Advanced Power teeth whitening is the fastest and most effective teeth bleaching system on the market today.

Using a layer of gel bleach to cover both the top and bottom teeth, the Zoom! Advanced Power teeth whitening system quickly uses a blue plasma light on the teeth to activate the whitening effect.

Your teeth can brighten up to 10 shades after just one visit with Zoom!

How Teeth Whitening Works at Dental House

With teeth whitening, you can get rid of stubborn stains that form over time.  The result is a cleaner, brighter, and younger looking smile.

Whitening can also make it easier for veneers and similar treatments to blend in with other teeth in your mouth.

When it's time for your treatment we will start with a consultation to make sure you are a good candidate for the procedure.  Our dentists then start with a general oral health checkup before applying the whitening gel to your teeth.

After we apply the gel it will be exposed to the Zoom! LED light. This speeds up the entire process and forces the treatment all the way down to the root of your stains.

Maintaining Your Bright Smile

Your teeth can be up to 10 shades whiter after just one treatment.  However, to keep your smile as bright as possible we will send you home with in-home whitening trays for the occasional touch-up.  It's also important to continue brushing at least twice a day and flossing at least once a day.

Stain Removal for Your Teeth

Are your teeth a little less pearly white than you’d like? If so, you’ll be happy to know that teeth whitening procedures have come a long way in the last few years. Often in just a few office visits, we can get back that bright, white the smile you remember — quickly and affordably.

What Causes Stained Teeth?

There are many potential causes of stained teeth. It could be something in the food that you’re eating. Let’s check these out:

  • Food and Drink: Coffee, and red wine, for example, contain tannins, and these can stain teeth. Some fruits and veggies can also cause tooth discoloration.
  • Tobacco: If you’re a smoker, you’re probably sick of people telling you that it’s bad for you. However, tobacco, whether smoked or chewed, is very staining.
  • Bad Dental Hygiene: This is one of the most common causes of staining. You need to brush your teeth twice a day, floss them every day, and go for descaling treatments at the dentist twice a year. That will keep your teeth looking better for longer.
  • Disease or Trauma: Certain medications can alter the color of the teeth. In children, any disease that has an impact on the development of enamel can potentially cause staining.

The first step towards finding the right treatment option is to identify the different types of teeth stains that might be causing the problem.

Discolored Teeth vs. Stained Teeth

There are several processes in the human body. As we age, the dentin in our teeth starts to yellow more and more. Some people are born with enamel that is more transparent in color. Also, as we get older, our enamel thins naturally. As a result, the yellowing dentin is a lot more obvious.

This is an example of where the teeth have discolored rather than been stained. It’s an important distinction.

Stained teeth are as a result of something that has come into contact with the enamel. Scrubbing the enamel, therefore, is all that is needed to whiten the teeth.

Discoloration is different because it’s not a “skin-deep” problem. Whitening pastes and bleaches won’t work here, because they don’t penetrate into the tooth far enough.

The Best Way to Remove Teeth Stains

There are several stain treatments available to you, but prevention is always the best. Do take proper care of your teeth and don’t skip your bi-annual general dental cleanings.

When it comes to teeth stain removal, it’s better to leave this up to our dentist. There are whitening treatments that you can get at home, but they’re usually not strong enough to make much of a difference.

Another issue with these products is that the trays provided are generic. They are unlikely to fit properly. That, in turn, means that the product ends up being unevenly applied, not even touching your teeth in some areas. At best, you’ll be able to get a shade lighter. You also run the risk of damaging your teeth if you perform too many of these home whitening treatments.

So, if you shouldn’t use the DIY kits, you might be wondering how to remove deep stains from teeth or how to get rid of brown stains on teeth. The answer is simple – make an appointment with our dentist to find out what your options are.

Overall, you’ll get the results that you were looking for faster, less expensively, and more effectively.
